Natural Progesterone Cream

Prevent Preterm Labor and Premature Birth

Natural progesterone cream is perfectly safe to use during pregnancy. There are no known contradictions to using the cream until the 38th week of pregnancy. But I have to say this for legal reasons: Never start a supplement without first consulting with your health care provider.

Disclaimer: Does a pregnant mom need to use a progesterone cream? The answer is that it depends on whether or not the pregnant mom has low progesterone in pregnancy. Normally if you are under a conventional medical doctor, they will recommend or prescribe vaginal suppositories. Many conventional doctors neither do not believe in nor recommend it. This is widely because they are not educated about its true value – in other words the pharmaceutical companies don’t have a hand in manufacturing it, so they don’t educate the physicians on it – instead they push their own goods. With this in mind I recommend you research this topic for yourself and come to your own conclusions.

My own doctor admitted he didn’t know much about natural progesterone cream. I used it anyway – see my story below.

Progesterone may help prevent early miscarriage and preterm labor and premature birth.

Progesterone comes in 4 forms:

  1. Oral Pills
  2. Shots
  3. Transdermal Cream
  4. Vaginal Suppositories

The shots are given to women at risk for preterm labor. The consensus is that the shots are suppositories are given prescribed because that’s what is being pushed by the drug companies. However, in my own opinion, natural progesterone cream is just as effective. I know of many women who have used it with great results. Even now, there are a few conventional physicians who are researching this and are recommending the use of the natural progesterone cream to their pregnant patients at risk for preterm labor. The tide is slowly turning to the benefits of a natural alternative that’s both effective and cost efficient.

I am so passionate about progesterone cream because I have had great personal experience and success with using it. I have had 2 early miscarriages and preterm labor 3 times and premature
births twice. I experienced minor infertility. The one miscarriage and the preterm labor and premature births happened before I knew about natural progesterone cream. It was because of these
occurrences that spurred me to learn about human reproduction. During all of this I discovered the natural progesterone cream and began using it. I realized through charting of my fertility signs
that the reason I had suffered a miscarriage and the preterm labor and births were because I had low progesterone. The cream helped to balance the hormone deficiencies, thus curing my problems!

It wasn’t until right before I became pregnant with my fourth baby that I learned about the use of progesterone cream throughout pregnancy. Before that, I was only using it to prevent early miscarriage and stopped the cream at seven weeks. I suffered from preterm labor in my third pregnancy, my daughter tried to be born at 30 weeks. I had 7 long weeks of bed rest, in and out of the hospital, plus a plethora of pills, injections and IV’s. I managed to carry her to 37 weeks, but it wasn’t without a lot of fighting.

Happy PMS Progesterone Cream

I discovered Happy PMS Cream and talked in depth with the manufacturer. I wanted to make sure the cream was 100% natural and was very pleased to discover it was everything I was looking for in a cream. The months prior to using it my luteal phase was averaging around 7 days. I figured that pregnancy wasn’t even an issue.

That first month I used the Happy cream I conceived my 4th baby! I was very afraid of a repeat of my third pregnancy. I called the manufacturer and they suggested I use the cream until my 38th week of pregnancy.

I did as they suggested. My fourth pregnancy was by far the easiest one! I escaped preterm labor and went on to carry her two days past her due date! I jokingly call her my “Happy Cream” baby now!

I’m living proof that natural progesterone cream works and works well. It took my very short luteal phase and helped me to carry a pregnancy past the due date. I’m a firm believer in the cream.  I believe that any woman at risk for preterm labor would benefit from using the cream throughout pregnancy.

Hi, i’m a practising Chiropractor/applied kiniesiologist of 30 years and have had astounding results in using Applied Kiniesology for patients with infertility problems, miscarriage, painful menses, part of the treatment is natural progesterone cream. Vitamin b6 in its active form-p5p is also very valuable as is cranial work to balance the pituitary gland. As of now out of 24 couples who had persistant conception problems 23 have had normal pregnancies and births.one couple had a 2nd child and the father had zero sperm count!
Currently i’m writing a book on wholistic parenting, its in you. i agree the treatment and dosages need to be monitored by an experienced practitioner as it can be a minefield for the lay person were it is relatively easy for me to diagnose the cause and find the unique treatment schedule. R

Hi, after two early miscarriages, I asked to be tested for low progesterone, and both my estrogen and progesterone were low. The progesterone was 2.7, way too low to sustain a pregnancy. I’ve been prescribed 200 mg of natural progesterone pessaries twice a day, so that’s 400 mg a day and the doctor said that she’d leave me on it for 10 weeks once pregnant. I know from reading other women’s stories that for some women switching that early will cause a miscarriage, and that it’s better to continue. However my greatest concern is how can I transition safely from the messy and expensive pessaries to a transdermal cream? I read somewhere that vaginal pessaries are as inefficient as oral pills, only 1/10th the potency of transdermal cream, or 1/10th of the dose actually gets through, a pharmacist suggested 1/4, and Dr. Lee who I think dealt more with menopausal women than pregnant ones recommended a low dosages (between 30 and 60 mg) or something per day. Does anyone know how much of the progesterone in transdermal cream gets through, and hence how to calculate my needed dosage! Ladies please when you are using the cream also taper off slowly if you are going to stop, stopping suddenly can be disastrous particularly with the larger dosages. Thanks for any feedback!

I also believe my low progesterone is due to 13 years or so of being on birth control. I am positive this has effected my fertility. I wish there were more information out there about this as so many women have the same problem!

Well Ive had 3 pregnancies and all resulted in m/c…now im pregnant again…Im about 6 weeks…As soon as I found out I ve been taking happy pms cream twice a day due to low progesterone…Its crazy because I was on b/c for about 7 years on and off, which I believed is the reason I have low progesterone levels(research proved me right)! I actually saw my ob today and she wants me to see a specialist and she says she dont think its anything wrong with me using the progesterone cream…However ive been taking prenatal vitamins for about 3 months, geritol, and I used the happy pms cream a couple months ago and now im pregnant…Basically im really happy and thankful…Besides I really just think that GOD is ready to bless me with a child regardless of all the vitamins and cream I used! I will continue to use the cream though and see the outcome…Have faith and believe in GOD!

i just started doing my research on progesterone and pregnancy. i wish i had started a long time ago. i am thankful for the sharing of your experience. it gives me hope that everything will be fine. our family planning has been in effect for many years. we knew when we would start trying so i researched nearby doctors and midwifes and chose the most holistic one i could find. i went for a visit 3 months prior to when we had planned ttc just to make sure all my ducks were in a row. i didn’t have health insurance yet so she gave me her best advice without running test and bloodwork to break our pocket. i felt really good with her. she respected my choices and views on being anti modern medicine and all that comes with it. she said my progesterone was very low and suggested i pick up a bioidentical cream(emerita pro-gest) at whole foods and instructed me on its use. i thought the cream was just to lengthen my cycle so i ovulated, we never discussed what to do with it once i became pregnant. we tried first in october and were not successful. i attribute it to the fact that i was traveling and didn’t use the cream properly and possibly miscalculated my ovulation. we found out we were pregnant on thanksgiving. i tried to call her all weekend (and email) and i couldn’t get in touch with her. i didn’t know what to do with the cream. i had stopped using it 5 days prior when i thought i got my period but was just spotting from implantation. 3 days after i my dreams came true, started spotting. it was still the holiday weekend. on monday morning i went in for a visit and bloodwork and then back again 2 days later to compare my hormone levels. even though they tried to keep me hopeful i knew what was happening. i could just tell. so i miscarried my first pregnancy 2 weeks and 2 days ago. i bleed for 14 days. it was torturous. now i am looking into it and realizing that it is probably do to the lack of progesterone. i’m not sure how comfortable i feel with this doctor anymore. she was away for the holiday weekend and i couldn’t get in touch with her. she now told me that she give her cell phone to her pregnant patients. if i would have had that i feel i might have been able to prevent this. i know it is not completely her fault and i should have done some research but i feel i should have been told what to do with the cream once i became pregnant. i don’t know what to do. she got me where i needed to be and got me pregnant but also unbeknownst to her cause the loss of it. i really like her but i can’t afford another mistake. just looking for an opinion on the matter. i guess i could talk to her but i don’t want to tell her that i blame her for my loss. also i was wondering what your opinion is on when we should try again. i feel emotionally ready, i just don’t want to risk anything with my hormone levels. i started the cream again 5 days ago. (so basically had mc on 11-27, bleed until 12-10, started cream on 12-8… i plan to take the cream 2x per day when i ovulate again.) she said to wait one full cycle. thank you for your input :)

I used a progesterone cream for my fourth after two recurrent miscarriages and carried to term. In response to the poster I don’t see how directly or indirectly you can blame this doctor for your own loss, when you were given the cream knowing you was TTC one of the many questions you should have asked was what to do when you become pregnant with the cream. Blaming another party for your lack of follow through in your TTC is not healthy. I think you owe her an apology. Doctors practice medical art because this study is relatively new you can not blame her or anyone else for your m/c sometimes they “just happen” and it could be low progest or a genetic mutation. The fact she took you with no insurance shows how exceptional she truly is as a doctor. And her policy towards her pregnant patients prove she goes above and beyond. I’ve received some subpar treatments from docs as an expectant mother and believe me NO ONE gives out their cell# – not even my best OB did . Also, you should wait one full cycle which means don’t TTC until February so if any remnants are/were left they would be completely removed. Take her advice. Meet with her to discuss your feelings – all even if you do blame her for the loss because pregnancy is very much mental as much as physical and if you have an unhealthy mentality going in and it can lead to depression and other complications mentally post or during the pregnancy so she needs to be aware of this. Best of luck TTC is not easy for some it may take months to conceive again, find a good support group online or in your community it can be an emotionally draining experience.

Hi Nicole. I also had an early m/c. Actually I have had two back to back just a few months ago. I do believe that I have a progesterone problem due to the early spotting I get before my period every month. I have recently switched midwives and she prescribed 100 mg Endometrin (progesterone) to be vaginally inserted at ovulation. ( I use OPK to know when ovulation is close then waited two days before starting the progesterone.) She says it is safe and has had success with it. I am also using a natural progesterone topical in coconut oil to supplement during the day as I am only to use one suppository per day. I was never tested for progesterone but weather I get pregnant this cylce or not, we will be testing. I plan on using the progesterone oil and suppository for about 14 days and if no positive pregnancy test I will discontinue till next ovulation. I am sorry for you loss and completely understand your pain. I am in the 2ww right now. Good luck to both of us!
